SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – It pleases me to share this week’s good news. And if I forgot any: let me know! I look forward to spreading the word, yours and mine. Don’t make me wait any longer.
And Happy Valentine’s Day!
To start up. Friends of Euclid Creek is hosting its kickoff meeting for anyone interested in how environmental groups work. And the date is memorable, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on 22-02-2022. Come find out what Friends of Euclid Creek does and why. The meeting will be held at Highland Heights Community Center, 5827 Highland Road, Highland Heights, Ohio. For over 20 years, Friends of Euclid Creek has worked throughout the Euclid Creek watershed (Beachwood to Cleveland/Lake Erie) to provide environmental education and hands-on conservation efforts. And look close to home when you decide to bring something special to that special someone. Many local shops and vendors offer something sweet for your sweetheart(s).
A safer winter. There are perils all year round, but some are very specific to this time of year. So be careful on the ice when walking and driving in bad weather. If you are an intrepid cyclist, be aware that some drivers may not be expecting you; wear bright colors and obey the law. If you’re a walker dressed in gray and white, add a colorful scarf or in the evening, something neon. And everyone: let the warmth of your heart and the wisdom of your mind guide you in decision making. If you see a neighbor in need, contact them. If you plow for a living, don’t solve one person’s problem by creating a unique ice sculpture punctuated with salty lozenges in someone else’s driveway apron. And to the young, muscular and full of pep: Help out with the shoveling if you can. Don’t be frozen. And, to anyone interested: Feed the birds!
