Ram Trucks and Lucchese have teamed up to create a range of premium, western-inspired, hand-crafted boots not associated with the 2021 edition of the Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary.
The line is inspired by the high-quality interior offered in the truck, a story that began a decade ago when Ram’s design team roamed the boot and saddle stores of Texas.
“Walking into a boot store and some saddle shops, and seeing the attention to detail, creativity and uniqueness, I knew this was fundamental to getting into the Longhorn and more, playing that on the 10th anniversary edition, “said Ryan Nagode, chief designer – head of RAM Interiors.
Trey Gilmore, Lucchese director of product development and men’s design, has designed boots for US Presidents, Hollywood celebrities and sports stars. Working with Ram presented a unique challenge.
My idea was to capitalize on and celebrate Lucchese and Ram Trucks, and take some of the best parts and pieces from a design standpoint and put them together, and be able to show the world a really fantastic shoe that both celebrates the brands and the history they have, ”he said.
The designer referred to the Mountain Brown leather-trimmed seats, laser filigree detailing on the suede door bolsters, antique brushed zinc console badges and the Ram logo to create the look of the new boots.
These elements are central to what Nagode says that ties interior design to the emotional connection and authenticity of ranch life in the South. “It feels like you’re on a ranch with the sunlight coming up in the morning, with the warm tones, textures and feel. For us, it’s more than just a product. We want that. you walk in and feel, “he said.
This feeling is a mixture of rustic and sophistication, a look Gilmore strived for during the book creation process. “The leather is initially very neutral, a sort of beige color, and with our hand dyeing process we all mix our own dyes and colors and we do that coloring and finishing in-house. As you can see, it’s pretty – on that Mountain Brown interior, ”he said.
